Waikato Regional Council, NZ adds weekly fare capping for public transportation Bee Card tickets

Waikato Regional Council, NZ weekly transport fare capping

Complete

Waikato Regional Council implemented weekly fare capping in the Bee Card ticketing system for public transportation. The council made the change in order to make bus travel more affordable for residents budgeting for travel. The maximum an adult will pay per week is $18 and the maximum anyone under the age of 18 will pay is $15 per week. Once a passenger reaches the weekly fare cap, any further bus travel is free for the week.
