Barcelona City Council will provide data to BSC-CNS for a second phase of the tool's development with university researchers. Digital twins capable of informing public policy decisions related to city planning are expected within four years.

Barcelona established a tax on the gross income of delivery services receiving at least 1 million euros from local consumers. AMBici is a subscription-based sharing service with 2,600 e-SMARTbike 2.0s and 236 stations. Users pay annual memberships of 25 euros in 2023 and 40 euros in 2024 for e-bike access. The first half-hour is free with each additional half-hour priced at 0.50 euros in 2023. Riders will pay 0.15 euros for the first half-hour starting in 2024. Municipal officials will connect the existing Bicing bike-share program to AMBici at transfer stations on routes to 15 participating communities.
