The City of Sioux Falls regularly conducts Polco's National Community Survey (NCS) to gather feedback from residents to determine budget priority-settings and maintain record-breaking economic growth. The city uses the NCS results to inform infrastructure investments that make Sioux Falls comfortable, fun, and beautiful. According to recent NCS results, residents rate almost every aspect of the city's economy high than the national average.

The City of Sioux Falls received the 2020 Voice of the People award for Excellence in Economy. The award is presented by Polco, the National Research Center, and International City & County Management Association to acknowledge local governments with the highest NCS ratings.
