Herrenberg, BW uses digital twin to inform long-term planning with accurate data and public feedback
Herrenberg, BW Digital Twin Public Feedback Planning
Complete
Researchers with High-Performance Computing Center Stuttgart (HLRS) installed environmental sensors throughout Herrenberg. Selected participants used the Reallabor Tracker app to record their activities and feelings about different areas of the town. These inputs translated into a three-dimensional model available to the public at pop-up events via the Cave Automatic Virtual Environment. Herrenberg's digital twin allows better management of its historic core and expanding periphery.
Project Succeeded
Town officials are considering VR tourism via the digital twin as an avenue for attracting international visitors.
