North Bergen, NJ digitized its OPRA requests with GovPilot
The North Bergen Clerk Department partnered with GovPilot to digitize its Open Records Requests (OPRA) processing, delivery, and filing processes. The digital system replaced the previous paper-based application which inefficiently processed 60 to 120 OPRA incoming requests each month. The previous manual process was time consuming for the Clerk's Department struggling to meet the state-mandated seven business day response requirement and resulted in a significant backlog of OPRA requests.

Since North Bergen digitized its OPRA request processes it has eliminated its backlog by vastly increasing its efficiency. North Bergen staff can process and assign incoming OPRA requests in just one hour using the digital system compared to half a day using the manual process. GovPilot's system even allows North Bergen to process complex OPRA requests in just two business days down from the seven days on average with the previous system.
