Hudson County, NJ utilizes GovPilot to digitize & streamline planning process

Hudson County’s Planning Department implemented GovPilot in March 2020, just as the COVID-19 pandemic was spreading across the northeast. Staff immediately saw the benefits of GovPilot’s cloud-based planning module including significant time savings and ability to seamlessly share data. Francesca Giarratana, Division Chief of Planning said that, "GovPilot helped us seamlessly carry on business throughout COVID enabling the submission of applications online, and for all staff to work remotely."

Atlantic City, NJ partnered with GovPilot to more effectively manage vital records digitally

Atlantic City's Vital Records Department partnered with GovPilot to replace its previous paper-based process and physical filing system with cloud-based government management software. By enabling digital application submissions and payment processing, the Vital Records Department is able to to operate more efficiently and productively. The new digital system allowed the department to effectively continue operations throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

Trenton, NJ Nets $4.15 million on Auctioned Real Estate with GovPilot

In an effort to revitalize the city, promote affordable housing options, and generate revenue, New Jersey’s capital city, Trenton, hosted a live online auction of residential and commercial properties. The auction, hosted in partnership with GovPilot, a government management software provider, saw all 49 listed properties receive winning bids - generating $4.153 million in revenue for the city in one day. This initiative is replicable in municipalities across the U.S. to help generate revenue.

The digitized permit process provides many advantages over the previous manual paper-based system. Eastampton Township partnered with GovPilot to digitize its Certificate of Continued Occupancy (CCO) application and inspection system. The cloud-based digital platform provides many advantages over the manual paper-based process. Residents and real estate agents can request records, submit applications, and receive automated status emails for CCO permits directly via the town's website. Eastampton employees can search records instantly and conduct property inspections via the GovPilot app.

Jackson Township implemented GovPilot's full suite of cloud-based modules after a successful trial of their free modules during the COVID-19 pandemic. GovPilot rapidly on-boarded 17 critical modules for Jackson Township's Clerk's Department to replace its paper-based systems with public-facing GIS maps, digital reporting, public open record requests, etc. The Clerk's Department is using the Receipting and Expense Tracking module to track COVID-19 related expenditures for FEMA reimbursement.

The digital system replaced the previous paper-based application which inefficiently processed 60 to 120 OPRA incoming requests each month. The previous manual process was time consuming for the Clerk's Department struggling to meet the state-mandated seven business day response requirement and resulted in a significant backlog of OPRA requests.

Union Township partnered with GovPilot to digitize the management of its open public records requests. The cloud-based system replaced physical filing cabinets, regular mail, phone calls, and emails which inefficiently processed 1,000 open public records requests each year. Requests are now filed through a digital form on the municipal website which cannot be submitted until all required fields are completed. The requests are received electronically with a timestamp and automatic status updates.
