The Paradise Police Department is partnering with Utility, Inc. to utilize body-worn camera technology and an in-car video system to increase transparency and accountability with the community. The Eos by Utility body cameras are embedded within officer uniforms to prevent detachment. The Eos cameras use artificial intelligence to automatically activate whenever the officer runs, activates lights, draws their gun, etc.

The new cameras are provided by a company called Utility Inc., which employs its patented Eos by Utility™ body-worn camera technology as well as the company's Rocket by Utility™ in-car video system.

Paradise police announced they have completed their training on body-worn cameras and all of the agency's commissioned officers will now be equipped with cameras. The $245,875 contract with Utility includes cameras that will be embedded in the officers' uniforms to prevent them from detaching. “We are very excited to have partnered with Utility, Inc. and to be able to implement their technologically advanced body camera and in-car camera systems.
