Timmins, ON cultural competency training program
The Municipality of Timmins launched a training program to educate city staff about the history of Indigenous people. The program was developed following recommendations from the Ontario Human Rights Commission to address institutional racism toward Indigenous people. The city is investing approximately $35,000 on the training to ensure services are delivered in a culturally competent manner.
