Fairfield, OH Police Department enters 10-year contract with CentralSquare for upgraded CAD system

The Fairfield City Council has approved a $311,468 contract with Florida-based CentralSquare Technologies to upgrade the Fairfield Police Department's 15-year-old computer-aided dispatch and records management system. The 10-year contract includes the installation of new software, hardware, servers, and training for almost 100 employees. According to the Fairfield Police Chief, the installation of the system will not impact 911 services or non-emergency calls.

Reno, NV The Biggest Little Blockchain pilot adds transparency and security to records management

Reno partnered with BlockApps for the first municipal-run blockchain platform in the United States. The STRATO platform will first handle Certificate of Appropriateness requests to the city's Register of Historic Places. Blockchain technology protects records from deletion and loss while streamlining the record request process. City officials are hopeful that The Biggest Little Blockchain can be deployed for permitting, licensing, and resident requests following the pilot.

Bloomington, IN begins using blanket service contracts in Controller's Office

After the City receives an invoice, instead of drafting a brand new service contract and attaching the invoice to it, the employee pulls the blanket service contract from New World software, inserts the appropriate service contract number, scans it into the system, and sends it off to the Controller’s Office. Using the old way, employees would have spent up to an hour to process each invoice. The new method takes a maximum of ten minutes per invoice.

Plymouth County, in partnership with Avenu Insights & Analytics, digitized and indexed its entire collection of historic records dating back to the founding of Plymouth Colony in 1620. The County indexed over 1,024,027 documents including deeds, maps, court orders, and other vital records. These documents were linked with images and indexed with identifying tags. The County created this digitization program to ensure the public maintained access to legible text-based historic documents.
