Parker, CO Police Department asks residents to identify traffic issues with pins on a virtual map

Parker, CO Police Department community traffic feedback map

Complete

The City of Parker established the "Let's Talk Parker" online engagement forum to encourage participation from the community. The Parker Police Department is using the forum to ask residents for help identifying traffic issues. Residents use Bang the Table's EngagementHQ Places tool to request increased traffic enforcement efforts at specific locations by placing virtual pins on an interactive map. This feedback from residents enhances ongoing traffic enforcement efforts and community safety.

Tell us where we can provide enhanced traffic enforcement efforts. | Let's Talk Parker

The Parker Police Department works hard to enhance safety in our community and we would like our residents to help us determine areas that could use some additional attention. If you know of specific roads or intersections that would benefit from increased traffic enforcement efforts, please identify them on the map below. Feedback received from this tool will be incorporated into ongoing traffic enforcement efforts. The archived maps from previous years are available here: https://www.letstalkparker.org/PoliceTrafficEnforcementMap2018 https://www.letstalkparker.org/Policetrafficenforcementmap2019

Project Succeeded

Within six weeks of launching the Traffic Enforcement Map, nearly 300 pins were placed on the map compared to the average of 10-12 forms submitted each month. The community feedback led to the creation of "Education and Enforcement Days" which involve increased policing in targeted areas identified by residents such as installing digital speed signs where residents complained about excessive speeding.
